This is a helpful introduction to medical anthropology in that it covers all aspects of the field. It provides insight as to why medical anthropology is important to the medical field and provides examples as to why having informed physicians promotes the health of multi-cultural patients. The only thing I do not like about this book is that it is set up a bit like a power point presentation. The chapters cover a lot and never really go into exciting case studies. I would recommend this book but with some reservation.
