It is the exact same book word for word as the last edition hence the rating. I absolutely loved the last book because it help me organize my topic studying but I'm disappointed that they didn't add even one new question to this edition, being that I bought it solely for the practice questions. If I were you I would just buy the old one super cheap instead of buying this one since there's no difference between the two.

GOOD:
It has questions from past exams to give you a feel for the structure of the test. Seeing the test setup and the manner in which they bring questions against the passages is valuable.
BAD:
Some questions are purposely misleading, either by omission of relevant material or by outright diversion. Some questions have answers that are contrary to what a person who has taken the time to learn the subject matter would answer based on their studies, providing obscure alternative reasoning for their correct answers (though it is good to know that you should be on the lookout for such things before getting to the exam). Scary if this is a true example of what the people treating Americans were measured on before entering school but hopefully the USMLE avoids this method of measurement in favor of testing one's actual knowledge of the subject matter.
The study guide is nothing more than a multiple page list of items to learn for each section of the test. The list is pretty much all inclusive of the subject matter contained in your college textbooks. So AAMC study guide for the MCAT = Memorize your textbooks.
UGLY:
Much like traditional textbooks this book has the same material as past editions, right down to the sample questions. I purchased the first edition thinking that I would have two sets of past exam questions to work through for additional practice. I was wrong. And the first edition cost all of $2 before shipping. Go that route friends. You will have lost nothing and retained some funds to put toward the actual test fee.
