Nice skinny little book that has copious, easy-to-use diagrams and provides a great review of the basics of EMG and the relevant anatomy. Mostly, this book is geared towards practical stuff, but does cover enough of the theory to help you out on the AAEM test. I used it as a review for my final month of EMG, since I hadn't done it for about a year, and got through it easily in a weekend. I'm not sure how useful it would be for someone who's never done EMG before; I mostly found it helpful (very) as a concise refresher.

This minibook is good for beginners and it is also a small quick reference in EMG room for placements of the electrodes and normal values. However, it is very brief and will not give an extensive thorough explanation. I recommend it for beginners and technicians working in EMG room.
